- Technical Education Vocational Training Authority has been setup by an Ordinance in 1999.
- More than 420 Technical, Commerce, Vocational and Training Institutes are working in this Authorities where more than 1 lakh students male female getting education.
- Certificates courses duration 3 to 6 months and 1 year diploma courses and 4 years degree courses are taught in various institutes.
- The eligibility of certificates and diploma courses are only primary and middle.
- In 2006-07 more than 133000 students have been admitted in various disciplines and now in 2007-08 the enrollment has been increased upto 150000.
- TEVTA has collaborated with APTMA (All Pakistan Textiles Manufacture Association) and PREGMA (Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacture and Exporters Association) to prepare skilled force for textile sector.
- To prepare skilled labour force for Auto Technology Sector TEVTA has an agreement with Toyota motor company.
- Refrigeration and Air Conditioning experts are being prepared with collaboration of UNIDO.
- TEVTA has setup skilled centres in Jails and Model Technical Centres are being setup in Dini Madaris.
- TEVTA has introduced new courses in Child Protection Bureau and also collaborate with JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency)
- The Budget of TEVTA has been increased 750 million rupees to 1630 million rupees this year which is 18 percent more than previous year.
